How to Clean an Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Remove the iPad and disconnect power
Unplug any USB-C cable from the keyboard and lift the iPad away from its magnetic mount with clean, dry hands. Put the tablet somewhere safe and clean it separately under Apple's iPad guidance. Do not clean the keyboard while it is charging or attached to the iPad.
Step 2: Shake out loose debris gently

Step 5: Clean the keys without flooding gaps

Step 6: Wipe the trackpad and palm-rest area

Step 7: Disinfect only with an Apple-permitted wipe

Keep it away from openings and do not use bleach or hydrogen-peroxide products. Do not repeatedly saturate the flexible material.
Step 8: Clean the Smart Connector dry
Inspect the three Smart Connector contacts on both the keyboard and iPad. Apple's troubleshooting guidance calls for a dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Do not scrape the pins, use a pencil eraser, apply alcohol directly or leave lint across the contacts.
Step 9: Let all surfaces air-dry
Leave the keyboard open and disconnected at room temperature until no moisture remains around keys, seams, trackpad or connectors. Do not use a hair dryer, heater, compressed-air blast or direct sun. If there was a significant spill, do not test it merely because the outer surface looks dry.
Step 10: Reattach and test deliberately
