Step 1: Identify the unit and switch it off

Check the model on your device or its instructions before following a disassembly routine. Stop suction, turn the unit off, and disconnect its charging cable. Put the powered handle on a dry counter away from the sink. An adult should handle the small parts and cleaning materials. This is equipment maintenance, not guidance on how deeply to insert an aspirator or how to treat congestion. Follow the operating instructions and appropriate clinical advice separately when deciding whether to use it.

Step 2: Remove the tip and collection container

Detach the silicone tip and snot container using their normal connections. Keep them together in a clean basin rather than loose in a sink where they can disappear into the drain. Empty collected material hygienically and wash your hands after handling it. Do not open the motor housing, remove a battery, or probe an air opening. If material has passed beyond the intended collection area, seek Frida's advice instead of trying to flush the internal pump.

Step 3: Wash the separated collection parts

Wash the silicone tip and container with soapy water after each use, working on accessible surfaces until residue is removed. Give dried deposits time to soften instead of scraping them with a pin. Rinse thoroughly so soap is not left in the path that will be used for suction. Inspect openings for remaining debris without enlarging them. A blocked or torn tip should not be modified to make it flow; use the correct replacement when ordinary cleaning cannot restore a sound part.

Step 4: Use the dishwasher only for the permitted pieces

The manufacturer-authored 5005-A manual allows the removed tip and snot container to go in a dishwasher. Secure small pieces so they cannot fall onto a heating element or be lost, and keep the electrical handle and cable out. Check your exact instructions if the collection parts differ from the illustrated set. That dishwasher permission is not a general authorization to boil, steam, or sterilize every component by another method. Hand washing remains useful when you need to inspect a specific deposit closely.

Step 5: Wipe the handle without introducing liquid

Use a soft damp cloth on the outside of the handle, keeping it from dripping into the connector, switches, or air openings. Never hold the handle under running water or immerse it. Avoid abrasive cleaning agents, thinner, and benzene, as the manual directs. Clear accessible lint gently without inserting an object into an opening. If the unit has been dropped into water, is overheating, or behaves irregularly, stop using it and contact Frida rather than repeatedly charging or testing it.

Step 6: Dry the tip and chamber completely

Place the washed parts on a clean drying surface with their openings exposed to air. Check the chamber's corners and connection areas, not just its outer face. The manual identifies wet parts as one possible cause of low suction. Do not reassemble immediately while droplets remain inside, and do not use the powered unit as a drying pump. Keep components protected from new splashes and away from children. Only reconnect a charging cable when the unit and connector are dry.

Step 7: Refit and troubleshoot in a controlled order

Fit the dry container and tip securely according to the 5005-A assembly illustrations. Check cleanliness, unobstructed openings, dryness, and tight connections before assuming the motor has failed. If necessary, check charge state as a separate step. Do not test suction by putting a dirty attachment against a child's nose. Persistent poor function, damage, or abnormal heat needs manufacturer assessment. A successful cleaning should restore clean, dry collection parts without changing the device's original shape or bypassing its protective design.
