How to Clean a Mammotion LUBA RTK Robot Mower
Grass clippings and mud can pack around a LUBA mower's chassis, cutting disc, and wheels, while dust on the vision camera, charging station, or RTK reference station can interfere with normal operation. Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Stop and completely power off the mower
Park the LUBA on a firm, level surface, stop its task, and power it off completely. Mammotion warns that the robot must be off before any cleaning and before it is turned upside down. Disconnect it from charging. Do not rely only on a paused schedule or an app screen; verify that the mower is actually powered down before approaching the cutting area.
Step 2: Brush the top housing
Remove dry clippings and loose dirt from the housing with a soft brush. Follow with a lightly damp cloth on stuck soil. Mammotion warns against alcohol, gasoline, acetone, and other corrosive or volatile solvents because they can damage the appearance and internal components. Avoid spraying the complete housing merely because the wheels can be hose-cleaned under the official guidance.
Step 3: Turn the mower carefully and protect the vision module
Put on protective gloves. Use the lifting and turning method in the model manual, taking special care not to rest or strike the vision module. Support the mower securely so it cannot roll or fall while you work. If the machine is too heavy or awkward to position safely, get help rather than placing hands near a poorly supported cutting disc.
Step 4: Brush the chassis and cutting disc
Use a brush to remove packed grass, dry mud, and debris from the underside. Keep gloves on around the blades even though the power is off. Check for blade damage and confirm the blades and cutting disc can rotate freely as the manual describes. Mammotion says not to use sharp objects on the bottom; a screwdriver or metal scraper can damage parts and can slip into a blade.
Step 5: Clean the front and rear wheels
Brush dirt from the tread, hubs, and the gaps where mud restricts movement. Mammotion's cleaning guidance permits a brush or water hose for dirty front and rear wheels. Direct water only where the exact model instructions allow it, use ordinary hose pressure, and keep the stream away from the camera, control areas, charging contacts, and openings. Remove mud instead of leaving a thick layer to harden.
Step 6: Wipe the vision camera
Return the mower upright and use a clean, soft cloth to remove spots from the vision-camera lens. Do not scrub the lens with a dirty rag or abrasive paper, because trapped grit can scratch it. Mammotion notes that a clean lens is important to vision-module performance. If a clean lens is cracked, fogged internally, or still reports an error, stop cleaning and contact support.
Step 7: Clean the charging station and RTK reference station
Use a brush and cloth to clear the charging station's infrared transmitter and charging pin. Wipe accumulated dirt from the RTK reference station with a cloth; do not open or pressure-wash it. Keep power and connector precautions from the exact station manual in place. Inspect cables, contacts, and mounts for damage rather than disguising corrosion or a loose connection with more water.
Step 8: Inspect and test from a safe position
Make sure the underside is clear, blades are not damaged, the disc moves correctly, wheels are unobstructed, and all cleaned surfaces are dry enough for use. Restore the mower to its normal orientation before powering it on. Reconnect or test it in the order specified by the manual and watch the first movement from outside its path. Persistent vibration, blade damage, charging faults, or vision errors call for maintenance, not aggressive cleaning.
