How to Clean a Ninja Blast Portable Blender

Step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Stop blending and separate power

Turn the Blast off and unplug the USB-C charging cable. Make sure the blade has stopped before opening the sip lid or removing parts. Clean soon after use so protein, fruit fiber and dairy do not dry around the blade, lid seal or drinking opening.

Step 2: Rinse loose residue

Pour remaining drink into an appropriate drain or waste container. Rinse the vessel with warm water, keeping the motor base and charging port out of the sink. Do not reach through the blade area with fingers. Use a soft brush only when the appliance is off.

Step 3: Run the blend-clean method

Fill the vessel with water to the indicated liquid line and add one small drop of dish soap, as Ninja directs. Secure the lid, close the sip opening and run a blend cycle. Too much soap can create pressure and foam. Do not use hot water, bleach or a carbonated cleaning mixture.

Step 4: Empty and rinse thoroughly

Turn the unit off, wait for the blade to stop and pour out the suds. Rinse the vessel, blade area and lid with clean water until no foam or odor remains. Keep the base upright and avoid allowing rinse water to run down into buttons, seams or the charging port.

Step 5: Hand-clean the lid and seals

Remove only components the owner guide identifies as user-removable. Wash the sip lid, cap and gasket areas with warm soapy water and a soft brush, then rinse. Do not stretch a seal, pry the fixed blade assembly or use a metal tool around the drinking opening.

Step 6: Use the dishwasher only for approved parts

Ninja says all parts except the motor base are top-rack dishwasher-safe. Place them securely on the top rack and do not run a heated wash or heated drying cycle. Confirm that your dishwasher will not drop a small lid part onto a heating element. The motor base never goes in the dishwasher.

Step 7: Wipe the motor base

Use a clean cloth dampened with mild soapy water on the outside of the motor base, then a second damp cloth and a dry towel. Do not immerse, rinse under a faucet or spray the base. Keep the USB-C port, controls and electrical seams dry.
