How to Clean and Descale a Ninja Luxe Café
The Ninja Luxe Café ES600 series combines an integrated grinder, espresso group, drip-coffee brewing, and an assisted frothing system. That creates several distinct maintenance paths: coffee grounds must stay dry in the grinder, milk residue must be removed from the whisk and wand promptly, coffee oils collect in the portafilter and group, and mineral scale requires the machine's guided descale program. This page targets ES600-series machines, including common ES601 variants; confirm the rating label because later Premier Pro or international revisions may use different accessories and controls.

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Clear the brew parts after use
Allow pressure to release, remove the portafilter, knock out the puck, and rinse the basket and portafilter. Remove any drip-coffee basket or grounds used for that mode. Run the short group-rinse operation shown by Ninja and brush loose grounds from the group rim after it cools. Never unlock the portafilter while the machine is actively brewing.
Step 2: Clean the frothing system immediately
After milk, wipe the wand with a clean damp cloth and run its purge or rinse function over the drip tray. Remove the whisk from the milk jug, wash the jug and whisk with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. If the wand tip is blocked, cool the machine and use only the official cleaning method; do not enlarge steam holes with a random pin.
Step 3: Wash trays, baskets, and reservoirs
Switch off, unplug, and cool the machine. Remove the drip tray, tray cover, portafilter baskets, water reservoir and lid, and other items identified as removable. Hand-wash with mild soap or use the dishwasher only for parts Ninja explicitly approves. Dry the area around tray sensors and contacts before putting pieces back.
Step 4: Keep the grinder dry
Empty the hopper and run the grinder until loose beans are cleared if the guide requests it. Unplug before unlocking the hopper or accessing a user-removable burr. Brush dry grounds from the hopper, burr, and chute with the supplied or a soft dry brush. Never add water, rice, cleaning pellets not approved by Ninja, or a wet cloth inside the grinder.
Step 5: Clean the group and coffee outlets
Wipe the cooled shower screen and group rim with a damp cloth and soft brush. Check basket holes against a light and clear them only with an approved tool. Wipe accessible coffee outlets without inserting wire into internal tubing. Follow the ES600 cleaning program when its indicator appears; ordinary rinsing does not remove all coffee oils.
Step 6: Prepare the ES600 descale solution
When Descale appears, remove any water filter, empty the drip tray, and place a sufficiently large container beneath the required outlets. Ninja's ES600 support allows either the supplied descaling solution or, for that supported series, 16 fluid ounces of white vinegar plus 21 fluid ounces of water. Do not transfer that vinegar ratio to another Ninja machine and never combine both options.
Step 7: Complete the guided descale cycle
Select the Descale program using the exact model controls and follow each display prompt. The machine routes liquid through the paths it needs; keep the container and drip tray in place and do not brew coffee, turn off power, or interrupt soak stages. Empty collected hot solution cautiously and wipe splashes promptly.
Step 8: Rinse every treated path
Wash the reservoir, fill it with fresh water, and complete all prompted rinses. Wash the tray, container, portafilter, and milk jug again if they collected solution. Run a water-only verification through the relevant outlets and confirm there is no cleaner odor before making espresso, drip coffee, or milk drinks.
