Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Empty the chair and identify its version
Remove the child, dishes and toys, set the chair on a level floor and engage its safety controls. Find the product label and current manual. Separate the removable tray liner, tray, upholstery, harness and frame in your cleaning plan; a dishwasher rule for the liner does not apply to the tray base.
Step 2: Remove crumbs before wiping
Recline and raise the empty seat as needed to expose creases, then vacuum or brush dry food from upholstery seams, the crotch area, tray rails and footrest. Keep tools out of recline and height mechanisms. Dry removal prevents crumbs from turning into a sticky slurry inside stitched edges.
Step 3: Wash the tray liner separately
Remove the top liner from the tray, scrape food into the trash and place the liner in the dishwasher because Peg Perego lists it as dishwasher-safe. Position it so the spray reaches food-contact surfaces and water drains after the cycle. Hand-wash with mild dish soap when preferred, using no abrasive pad.
Step 4: Hand-wash the tray base

Step 6: Surface-clean harness and frame
Wipe installed harness webbing with low moisture and mild soap, without soaking or machine-washing it unless the exact manual says otherwise. Use a damp cloth on frame tubes, footrest and plastic touch points. Do not spray recline, height, fold or Stop & Go controls directly.
Step 7: Clear wheels and dry the chair open
Brush hair and debris from accessible wheel areas and wipe tread with a damp cloth. Leave the chair unfolded and the upholstery exposed until seams, harness and tray hardware are dry. Towel water from frame joints promptly and keep the chair away from strong heat.
Step 8: Reassemble and test every control
Reconnect the cover, harness, tray and liner exactly as the Siesta manual shows. Tug harness anchors and latch the buckle. With no child in the chair, test height settings, recline, footrest, folding action, tray lock and the Stop & Go or brake function. Do not use a chair whose control no longer locks.
