Step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Clean LatteGo after every milk session

Remove LatteGo from the machine, separate its milk container and frame, and pour out or refrigerate milk promptly. Rinse both pieces under running water, paying attention to the channel where milk and air meet. Philips identifies the two-piece LatteGo system as dishwasher-safe; place it as the manual directs or hand-wash with mild soap, rinse, and dry before reassembly.

Step 2: Empty the tray and grounds container

Empty the drip tray daily or whenever the red indicator rises. Empty the coffee-grounds container when prompted while the machine is switched on so its count can reset, then wash it weekly. Clean the tray grid and the small coffee-residue container where fitted. Dry the contacts and recess before sliding the assembly back.

Step 3: Rinse the brew group every week

Switch the machine off with its control and wait until it becomes quiet. Remove the water tank, open the service door, press the PUSH release, and pull out the brew group. Rinse it thoroughly with lukewarm water, including the upper filter and moving areas, without soap. Let it air-dry before returning it; Philips advises against cloth drying because fibers can remain.

Step 4: Deep-clean and lubricate the brew group

About monthly, use a Philips CA6704 coffee-oil remover tablet through the procedure specified for the model; the tablet cleans the brew-group filter but does not descale the water circuit. Roughly every two months, or at the usage interval in the manual, apply a thin layer of Philips grease to the piston, shaft, and guide rails. Do not substitute cooking oil.

Step 5: Clean spouts, tank, and dry coffee areas

Wipe the adjustable coffee spouts and hot-water outlet with a damp cloth and clear accessible openings gently. Wash the water tank weekly and rinse it thoroughly. Use the supplied spoon handle or a dry soft brush to clear a blocked pre-ground coffee funnel only when the machine is off. Keep water out of the bean hopper and grinder.

Step 6: Maintain AquaClean correctly

Replace and activate the AquaClean filter when the display requests it. A filter installed without the machine's activation sequence may not be counted. Philips states that descaling is still required after eight filter cycles. If a Calc/Clean prompt appears, remove AquaClean before adding descaler; never run descaling solution through the filter.

Step 7: Start the Philips Calc/Clean program

Empty and reinstall the drip tray, remove LatteGo or the classic frother, and remove AquaClean. Pour the full bottle of Philips descaler into the empty tank and add water to the Calc/Clean mark. Put the tank back and place a container of at least 1.5 liters beneath the coffee and water spouts. Start the exact EP32xx Calc/Clean sequence and follow the lights.

Step 8: Finish the rinse and restore the machine

When prompted, empty the collection container and drip tray, rinse the water tank, and fill it with fresh water. Complete the automatic rinse without interrupting it. Reinstall a prepared AquaClean filter only when the program is finished and activate it if required. Refit clean, dry LatteGo parts and brew group before making a drink.
