Step 1: Finish the batch, switch off, and unplug

Allow the mixing or extrusion process to stop, then disconnect the plug before touching internal parts. Move finished pasta away from the cleaning area so flour scraps and wash water cannot fall onto it. Clear enough counter space to set out the front assembly in order. If the machine stopped with an error or a jam, do not restart it with a hand or tool inside. Cleaning is done with power disconnected; the lid safety switch is not a substitute for unplugging.

Step 2: Support the front panel during disassembly

Remove the mixing-chamber lid and loosen the front-panel knobs. The HR2660 panel is heavy, so support it instead of allowing it to drop as the knobs release. Remove the panel, shaping disc, disc holder, paddle, and mixing chamber in the order shown in the manufacturer’s HR2660 manual. Lay parts out where they cannot roll into the sink. Do not pry a stuck component with a metal blade; first check the model’s removal sequence and remaining dough obstruction.

Step 3: Remove dough from the discs before washing

Collect large scraps from the detachable parts. Let dough in the shaping-disc openings dry enough to release, then use the corresponding supplied cleaning tool. Work over the scrap container so small pieces do not scatter into clean components. Match the tool to the disc rather than forcing an oversized point into a narrow opening. Once the holes are clear, wash the disc. This dry-first step is particularly useful for thin pasta shapes, where wet dough can be difficult to distinguish from a fully cleared opening.

Step 4: Hand-wash the panel and select a method for other parts

Wash the detached front panel by hand using dishwashing liquid and a soft sponge. Philips’ cleaning FAQ allows other covered detachable parts in a dishwasher program below 60°C/140°F after large dough scraps are removed. If the machine’s program temperature is uncertain, hand-wash instead. Avoid abrasive scrubbers and aggressive solvents. Keep the powered main unit away from the sink; permission to wash a detached mixing chamber does not mean the assembled appliance can be rinsed.

Step 5: Inspect food-contact crevices and rinse thoroughly

Look around the paddle hub, chamber corners, disc holder, and both sides of each disc. Run a fingertip over accessible smooth surfaces to check for remaining dough, avoiding any sharp edges. Reclean visible residue with the soft tool rather than trying to conceal it with a stronger fragrance or sanitizer. Rinse hand-washed parts until soap is removed, and check dishwasher-cleaned parts before putting them away. Wash tools and measuring accessories that contacted ingredients too, so yesterday’s residue is not transferred into the next batch.

Step 6: Clean the dry main unit and let parts dry

Use a dry cloth on flour residue around the main unit, control panel, and exterior. Do not spray into the display, safety-switch openings, or drive connection. If sticky contamination has entered the powered housing, ask Philips for help rather than pouring water through it. Wipe detachable parts dry and allow remaining moisture in recesses to evaporate. Keep cleaned discs separate from dirty ones during this stage. Store neither damp dough nor damp accessories in the drawer just because the next batch is planned soon.

Step 7: Reassemble without defeating the safety interlocks

Fit the chamber and paddle, then the disc holder, selected disc, and supported front panel as the manual shows. Check that mating surfaces are free of dried dough and the disc sits correctly. Secure the panel knobs and close the lid before reconnecting power. If an assembly warning appears, unplug again and check the fit rather than holding down a switch or overtightening a misaligned part. Put spare clean, dry discs in their intended storage positions and leave the appliance ready for the next use.
