How to Clean a SEBO Felix Premium Vacuum
The SEBO Felix Premium is a bagged upright with a removable brush roller, an S-class filtration system, and model-specific powerheads. Its paper or fleece bag and filters are replacement items, not washable cartridges. Cleaning therefore means replacing loaded filtration parts, removing hair from the roller, clearing the airflow path, and wiping housings without introducing moisture into the motor or electrical neck.

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Unplug and let the vacuum stop
Switch the Felix off, unplug it by the plug rather than the cord, and wait for the brush roller to stop. Separate the floorhead or hose only through its normal release. Never service the roller, remove a bag, or investigate a clog with the vacuum connected to power. Keep the plug, switch, electrical swivel neck, and motor openings dry.
Step 2: Check and replace the filter bag
Open the bag compartment and examine the bag indicator and actual fill level. A bag can restrict airflow before it looks completely full when it contains fine powder. Slide the bag collar out without squeezing the body, close its hygiene cap where supplied, and discard it. Do not empty and reuse a disposable bag; fit a correct new bag squarely so the inlet seals around the collar.
Step 3: Inspect the pre-motor filter
With the bag removed, locate the motor-protection filter described in the Felix instructions. Lift it out by its frame and inspect for discoloration, embedded powder, damage, or odor. Replace it at the interval in the filter set or when performance indicates it is loaded. Do not rinse, vacuum aggressively, beat, or brush through the filter media because that can open paths for dust to reach the motor.
Step 4: Replace the exterior exhaust filter when due
The textile-style outer section of the Felix also serves as exhaust filtration. Release and replace it using SEBO's model procedure, keeping the replacement oriented correctly around the body. This is not a washable fabric sleeve. A fitted exhaust filter must remain intact and dry; using the machine without it can release fine dust and alter cooling airflow.
Step 5: Remove the brush roller
Detach the compatible ET powerhead, press the brush-roller release, and slide the roller out in the direction shown by SEBO. Cut hair along the roller without slicing bristles or the belt area, then pull fibers away from each end. The Felix warns of a jam or worn roller through its indicator system; do not ignore a light that returns immediately after debris is cleared.
Step 6: Clean the floorhead without water
Use a soft dry brush and cloth to remove lint from the roller channel, edge areas, and visible intake. Turn the roller by hand before reinstalling it and confirm its end points are unobstructed. Do not rinse the roller, powerhead, or neck. If a belt, circuit, or sealed bearing appears damaged, use an authorized repair rather than opening the electrical floorhead.
Step 7: Clear clogs in the hose and air path
Remove the hose and check from both ends, then inspect the body inlet, attachment tube, floorhead neck, and bag opening. Ease out accessible debris with a blunt flexible tool that cannot puncture the hose. Never use water to flush a vacuum hose while it remains connected, and do not push a compacted object toward the motor. SEBO's how-to guidance shows the intended access points for clog removal.
Step 8: Wipe the body, cord, and tools
Wipe exterior plastic with a dry or barely damp microfiber cloth and dry it at once. Clean dust from accessory openings with a dry brush. Inspect the cord for cuts, crushing, exposed wire, or a loose plug; stop using the vacuum if damaged. Avoid polish, solvent, oil, aerosol spray, and abrasive pads on the body or flexible exhaust filter.
Step 9: Reassemble and confirm airflow
Lock the brush roller in the powerhead, reconnect the hose and head, seat the new bag, and close the compartment without pinching it. Plug into a sound outlet and test briefly. Normal suction, a smoothly turning roller, and no warning light indicate the path is restored. Unplug and recheck if the indicator remains on or the vacuum emits an unusual hot odor.
