Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: End the session and disconnect charging power
Turn both boots off and disconnect any charging cable according to the manual. Let the pneumatic cycle end rather than opening or folding a pressurized chamber. Place the pair on a clean, dry surface away from sinks. Never begin cleaning while a status light indicates charging or while moisture is visible near a connector.
Step 2: Unzip and lay each boot flat
Open the zippers fully and spread the boots without sharply creasing an air chamber or pulling on the integrated control area. Remove only accessories identified as detachable. Laying them flat exposes sweat-contact surfaces and prevents disinfectant from pooling at the toe, ankle or electronics end.
Step 3: Remove hair and dry debris
Use a soft, dry, debris-free cloth or brush to lift lint, hair and grit from the lining, zipper track and exterior. Do not use compressed air around valves or electronic openings. Dry debris removal keeps particles from scratching the material or being carried deeper by alcohol.

Step 5: Wipe the exterior gently

Do not use an abrasive pad, oil-based cleaner, bleach, corrosive solution or dressing. Keep all cleaner outside buttons, indicator windows and charging openings.
Step 6: Clean zipper surfaces without soaking
Support the material and wipe the accessible zipper tape and teeth with a dry or only slightly damp cloth. Remove trapped lint rather than coating the track with household lubricant. Do not force a slider past an obstruction. A separated zipper, torn seam or exposed chamber is a repair issue because cleaning cannot restore pressure integrity.
Step 7: Pat dry and air-dry open
Pat away visible moisture with a clean towel, then leave each boot fully unzipped and flat or hang it only as Therabody permits. Provide room-temperature airflow. Do not use a dryer, hair dryer, radiator, direct intense sun or enclosed bag. The lining, seams and area around the powered module must all be dry.
Step 8: Inspect before closing
Check the lining, chambers, seams, zipper, control buttons and charging connection. Look for swelling, cuts, loose material, lingering moisture or cleaner residue. Smell alone is not a dryness test; touch concealed folds with a dry cloth. Do not turn on a boot that may have liquid in an electronic or pneumatic component.
Step 9: Run a brief low-pressure check
When fully dry, close the boots correctly and operate a short session at a low setting without a user if the manual permits. Confirm even inflation, normal indicators and no hissing or error.
