Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Disconnect the correct Toniebox generation
Remove every Tonie figure. Lift a Toniebox 1 completely off its charging station, or unplug the charging cable from a Toniebox 2. Move the charger and cord away from the damp work area. Do not rely on standby mode alone. Inspect the fabric, ears, speaker area, top and charging contacts so you can target soil instead of wetting the whole cube.
Step 2: Remove dry debris first
Hold the disconnected box upright and use a soft dry brush or dry microfiber to lift crumbs, dust and hair from the fabric grain, ear bases and edges of the plastic top. Avoid driving debris through the speaker textile. Dry removal reduces the amount of water needed and prevents loose particles from becoming muddy streaks during wiping.
Step 3: Prepare a barely damp microfiber cloth
Mix a small amount of mild soap into clean lukewarm water, dampen a microfiber cloth and wring it very well. Tonies calls for damp cleaning, not soaking. Do not use solvents, chloride-containing products, chemical sprays, disinfectant, bleach or a strongly fragranced all-purpose cleaner. Apply solution to the cloth, never directly to the Toniebox.
Step 4: Wipe the fabric exterior in small sections
Use light passes with the fabric grain and work from cleaner areas toward a mark. Blot rather than rub a spill deeper. Keep the cloth especially dry near the speaker, seams and ear controls, and do not squeeze water into the padding. Follow with a second cloth lightly dampened with plain water when soap residue remains.
Step 5: Clean ears and the plastic top carefully
Wipe around each ear without pulling, twisting or forcing it and clean the plastic top with the same mild damp cloth. Do not let moisture pool around the Tonie contact area. A sticky button-like ear or unresponsive control is not repaired by adding more liquid; dry the device and consult Tonies if normal gentle surface cleaning does not resolve it.
Step 6: Remove Tonie footprints from the top
For dark marks left by a Tonie figure, Tonies suggests a plain-colored eraser or a Magic Eraser on the plastic top. Test gentle pressure and confine it to the mark; Magic Eraser is mildly abrasive, so do not scrub the fabric or printed details. Wipe away eraser particles and finish the plastic with a clean damp cloth.
Step 7: Protect charging areas and air-dry
Wipe accessible charging-contact surroundings with a dry cloth unless Tonies' exact instructions say otherwise. Never immerse the box, place it in a dishwasher or rinse it under a faucet. Let it air-dry upright at room temperature, away from a radiator, hair dryer and direct prolonged heat. Do not return it to its station or cable while damp.
Step 8: Reconnect and perform a simple test
When the fabric, ears, top and base are completely dry, reconnect the charging hardware and confirm normal status. Place one clean, dry Tonie on the top and test both ears and audio at moderate volume. Disconnect again and contact support if moisture is visible, charging is abnormal, the speaker crackles or the fabric has separated; do not open the electronic housing.
