Step 1: Read the coating label and isolate the turbine

Confirm that the material used is water-based and that water cleanup is appropriate. Switch the turbine off and unplug before disassembly. Wear the protection required by the coating and work with appropriate ventilation. Step 2: Empty and rinse the material container promptly

Rinse the cup with warm soapy water and collect the contaminated liquid for proper disposal. Do not assume paint wastewater can go down a household or storm drain. A cup liner can reduce residue on the cup but does not clean the suction tube, nozzle or air passages. Attend to the sprayer before paint dries into those smaller areas.

Step 3: Separate the correct front-end components

Use the diagrams in the FLEXiO 2500/3500 manual to match either the iSpray or Detail Finish assembly. Lay out removable parts in order. Clean the paint-handling parts with warm soapy water and the appropriate soft brush, without dismantling the electrical turbine. Do not guess at a seal orientation from memory or use a metal pick to enlarge an opening. Keep small seals in the tray, not loose beside the sink drain.

Step 4: Clear the suction tube vent and nozzle rear

The manual specifically calls for brushing the air vent on the suction tube and cleaning the rear of the nozzle. These areas are easy to miss when the visible spray tip looks clear. Work gently on dried residue and inspect that the passage is open without changing its shape. Follow the manual's thin petroleum-jelly application to the identified O-ring, not to every seal or air passage. Step 5: Distinguish a color-change flush from final cleaning

Wagner describes spraying the suitable cleaning solution into a waste container as a quick between-color operation. That controlled, reassembled flush is different from taking the front end apart for final cleanup. Keep hands away from the spray path and follow the manual's operating precautions if performing it. Do not reconnect power while manually brushing or disassembling parts. If output remains poor, inspect the front-end assembly instead of immediately increasing power or switching to a stronger solvent outside this guide's scope.

Step 6: Inspect the turbine filter and replace it as directed

The model manual calls for inspecting the air filter before use and replacing a dirty one. With power disconnected, release the rear tab, slide off the rear housing and fit the correct replacement with its smooth side toward the turbine, then secure the cover. Never operate without the filter. Wagner's generic FAQ mentions rinsing some filters, but this model's manual specifies replacement; follow that narrower rule. Step 7: Reassemble with seal orientation checked and store dry

Keep electrical components dry and store the clean sprayer indoors. Persistent leakage, damaged seals or a spray pattern that remains abnormal after correct assembly should be investigated through Wagner rather than compensated for by overtightening.
