How to Clean a Boon GRASS Drying Rack and Tray

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Empty the rack and remove accessories
Take off all bottles, pump parts, nipples and utensils and move them to a separate clean area. Remove TWIG, STEM or other accessories according to their design. Discard standing tray water and inspect for film, food residue and small parts trapped between blades. Do not wash feeding equipment on top of a dirty rack. Confirm the base product is GRASS rather than a newer Boon rack whose top-rack dishwasher statement differs.
Step 2: Separate the flexible rack from its tray
Lift the GRASS insert from the rigid lower tray using even support. Boon states that the rack splits into two pieces for easy cleaning. Do not bend one corner excessively or use a knife to pry the parts apart. Check the underside, tray corners and blade bases where residue hides. Keep accessory pieces together and note their positions, but separate them enough that soap and rinse water can reach all drainage surfaces.
Step 3: Hand wash in warm soapy water
Boon directs users to hand wash GRASS with warm soapy water. Work mild dish soap between flexible blades using fingers or a soft brush, then clean the underside and tray. Use a cloth on broad surfaces and avoid abrasive pads that create scratches where residue can cling. Clean compatible accessories according to their labels. Do not place GRASS in a dishwasher, even if another Boon product such as GROOVE is listed top-rack safe.
Step 4: Brush drainage areas without damage
Pay special attention to the blade roots, recessed tray edge and any place that stays wet after normal use. Use a soft bottle brush rather than a metal pick or stiff abrasive brush. Do not apply bleach, harsh limescale remover or solvent without exact Boon authorization. If mineral film resists normal washing, repeat the mild-soap method and verify local water deposits rather than mixing household chemicals on a baby-feeding work surface.
Step 5: Rinse both pieces completely
Rinse the insert from several directions so water carries soap out from between blades. Rinse tray corners and accessory attachment points until no suds or slippery film remains. Hold pieces over the basin and let water run away from your hands. Do not use boiling water to speed the rinse; Boon explicitly excludes boiling and sterilizing for GRASS. Inspect under bright light before declaring the crowded flexible surface clean.
Step 6: Air-dry separated pieces
Shake off excess water gently and place the rack insert and tray separately in a ventilated location. Stand the tray so corners drain and position the insert so air reaches its underside. Do not reassemble while hidden surfaces are wet or put the pieces in a microwave, sterilizer, freezer or clothes dryer. Wiping can remove droplets, but open air drying prevents the lower tray from immediately trapping a fresh layer of moisture.
Step 7: Reassemble on a clean counter
When both pieces and every accessory are completely dry, seat the insert evenly into the tray and reinstall dry compatible accessories. Wipe the counter beneath the rack before setting it down. Keep the tray emptied during routine use rather than allowing drainage water to stagnate. If plastic is cracked, permanently distorted or cannot be cleaned at a damaged seam, replace it; antimicrobial material claims do not eliminate the need for normal washing.
