How to Clean a Doona Car Seat and Stroller
Doona is both a rear-facing infant car seat and a stroller, so cleaning cannot compromise either its crash-protection components or transformation mechanism. Doona says the seat cover, canopy and shoulder pads can be machine-washed cold on a delicate cycle with mild detergent and hung to dry. The structure, wheels and handlebar are cleaned with warm soapy water on a washcloth. The harness webbing, buckle, infant insert, head support and generation-specific textiles must follow their exact user-guide or sewn labels; a machine-washable shoulder pad does not make the attached harness machine washable. This guide preserves that boundary and includes an empty transformation check after every part is dry.

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Remove the seat from the vehicle and identify parts

Step 6: Wipe the shell, handlebar and stroller frame
Use a washcloth with warm soapy water on the plastic structure, handlebar and accessible frame, as Doona recommends. Apply water to the cloth instead of spraying the seat. Keep liquid away from harness anchors, foam, labels and transformation joints. Follow with a clean damp cloth and dry hard grip surfaces so no soap makes them slippery.
Step 7: Clean wheels and moving areas without flooding
Brush grit from tire tread and wipe wheels with warm soapy water, rotating them by hand where safe. Do not hose, pressure-wash, steam or add household oil to the transformation mechanism. Remove wrapped hair without cutting near a structural part. Dry wheel hubs and inspect release controls, handle movement and visible hardware for damage after a drop or impact.
Step 8: Reassemble and test car-seat and stroller modes
Return every completely dry textile in the documented orientation, route straps flat and confirm the cover does not obstruct belt paths or labels. Reinstall pads and canopy as designed. With the Doona empty, buckle and tighten the harness, test handle positions, deploy and retract wheels and verify correct locking in both modes.
