Step 1: Switch off, disconnect and cool completely

Turn the Corrale off, disconnect the magnetic charging cable and remove it from the charging dock. Set it on a stable heat-resistant surface and wait until both plates and the body are fully cool. Do not rely only on sleep mode; confirm it is off before placing fingers near the plates. Keep the flight-ready tag in its normal operating position unless the manual specifically requires travel preparation. Cleaning a hot, charging lithium-ion appliance creates risks that a quicker wipe does not justify.

Step 2: Inspect the plates and hinge gaps

Open the arms and look across the flexing plate faces in good light. Identify hairs, dry product film and any nick or lifted segment. The fifteen micro-hinged sections are engineered to flex, so do not test them with a pick or press them individually. Brush only loose accessible debris away from the exterior. If a plate is deformed, snags hair after ordinary care or shows an electrical fault, route the issue through Dyson rather than trying to polish the surface flat.

Step 3: Wipe with a damp lint-free cloth

Dyson directs users to clean the cool flexing plates with a damp lint-free cloth. Dampen the cloth with water and wring it thoroughly; wipe along the plate surfaces using light pressure. Turn to a clean section as hair product transfers. Keep free water away from the hinge line, buttons, display, charging contact and housing seams. Step 4: Lift residue without abrasive tools

For a persistent film, repeat the damp-cloth pass and allow the water on the cloth a little contact time. Do not use metal scrapers, scouring pads, acetone, bleach, aerosol cleaner or a magic-eraser-style abrasive. The goal is to remove styling residue without changing the alloy plate finish or forcing material between micro-hinges. If the cloth catches, stop and inspect rather than dragging it. An unknown coating or burned material warrants model-specific Dyson advice, not increasingly aggressive household chemicals.

Step 5: Wipe the exterior and charging contact area

Use a clean barely damp section on accessible exterior surfaces, keeping liquid from the OLED display, controls and openings. Dust the charging dock separately while it is unplugged. Do not immerse the machine, rinse it under a tap or open the battery housing. Make sure no damp residue remains where the magnetic connector meets the appliance. A charging error after contamination needs troubleshooting and complete drying; cleaning should not include bridging contacts with foil or a metal tool.

Step 6: Dry before closing or charging

Leave the Corrale open on the stable surface until the plates, hinges and exterior are completely dry. Follow with a dry lint-free cloth if needed, but allow evaporation time rather than adding heat. Do not close damp arms, put the appliance into its pouch or place it on the powered dock. A hair dryer, oven or radiator can overheat the battery and materials. Check the plate faces at an angle for remaining film before deciding that another damp pass is needed.

Step 7: Test clean movement and store correctly

When dry, close and open the arms gently and confirm they move normally without visible obstruction. Charge and operate the unit according to the manual, watching for alerts. Do not run hot plates over a cloth to burn off residue. Store the clean appliance in its heat-resistant pouch only after it is cool, with the cable arranged without tight bends. If snagging, plate damage, charging errors or unusual heat persists, cleaning is complete and the next step is Dyson service assessment.
