How to Clean a Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool

Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool machines have two maintenance systems that must not be confused. The humidification water path uses a model-guided monthly Deep clean cycle to remove limescale, usually with a measured citric-acid solution and prompts on the LCD or MyDyson app. The Combi HEPA and activated-carbon purifier filter is replaced when prompted, not washed. Dyson also warns that the water-tank cap contains electrical connections and must stay dry. Step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Identify the exact machine

Read the model and serial information and open its Dyson support page. PH01, PH03, PH04 and Autoreact displays and quantities can differ. Follow the current LCD or app prompts over a generic sequence, especially for citric-acid measurement.

Step 2: Start only when the machine requests or needs the cycle

Dyson describes the Deep clean cycle as monthly water-system maintenance and provides an alert. Allow time for the complete automated sequence. Place the unit on a level water-resistant floor with clearance to remove the tank.

Step 3: Switch to the guided Deep clean mode

Use the machine control or MyDyson app as the exact guide directs. Remove the water tank when prompted. Do not begin by dismantling the amplifier, pump column or purifier body, and never work inside a powered base.

Step 4: Keep the tank cap electrical contacts dry

Remove the cap only as shown. Dyson notes that the cap contains power connections, so do not immerse it or run water over it. Wipe its permitted exterior with a dry cloth and set it in a protected dry place.

Step 5: Prepare the exact citric-acid solution

Fill the tank to the indicated level with cold water and add only the model-specified quantity of citric acid; several related models specify 150 grams, but verify yours. Dissolve it as directed. Do not estimate a stronger mixture or replace it with vinegar, bleach or household descaler.

Step 6: Load the removable water-system parts

Place the evaporator and any other prompted parts into the tank in the orientation Dyson shows. Refit the dry cap correctly. Do not put the Combi HEPA/carbon purifier filter, remote, cable or electrical body into the solution.

Step 7: Let the automated cycle finish

Reinstall the tank and follow the display. Do not interrupt, tilt or unplug the machine unless safety requires it. The cycle circulates solution through the humidification path so hand-scraping internal channels is unnecessary and risky.

Step 8: Rinse when prompted

Empty the used solution carefully, rinse the tank and removable water parts with cold clean water according to the screen, then refill for any guided rinse stage. Remove all citric-acid residue. Keep the cap contacts dry throughout.

Step 9: Dry and reassemble

Allow the cap and permitted parts to dry fully before refitting. Wipe the machine exterior with a dry or lightly damp cloth while unplugged, avoiding air slots and controls. Do not use polish, aerosol cleaner or an abrasive pad.

Step 10: Handle the purifier filter separately

Check filter life on the display or app. Dyson's Combi HEPA and carbon filter is a replacement component, not a washable water-system part. Install a correct replacement when prompted and reset its life only after replacement, not after vacuuming or rinsing it.
