How to Clean an ECOVACS DEEBOT X8 Pro OMNI
The ECOVACS DEEBOT X8 Pro OMNI uses an OZMO Roller mop rather than the round pads found on many robot vacuums, plus a main brush, side brush, filter, sensors, and an OMNI station for dust and water maintenance. The roller's integrated assembly and end cover collect hair differently from a conventional mop. Automatic washing helps, but the roller, dirty-water path, tray, dust system, and robot running gear still need hands-on cleaning.

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Stop the robot and isolate power
End the cleaning job and move the DEEBOT to a dry work area. If cleaning the roller, double-click Auto to extend its assembly while the idle robot is still powered and keep hands clear of movement; then switch off before handling or removing parts. Unplug the OMNI station before cleaning the wash tray, charging contacts, or exterior. Avoid tilting a robot while dirty liquid remains in its mop path. Keep the robot body, station housing, cord, sensor openings, and electrical contacts dry.
Step 2: Empty the robot bin and service its filter
Remove the dustbin, empty it into trash, and separate the filter using its rigid frame. Tap away loose dust. ECOVACS permits rinsing the X8 dustbin, filter and filter net with clean water when dirty. Do not add detergent; check replacement-part instructions if a different filter has been fitted. Air-dry completely before reassembly. Replace the station dust bag when indicated rather than emptying, washing, or reusing it.
Step 3: Clean the main brush and side brush
Place the powered-down robot upside down on a soft cloth, release the main-brush cover, and lift out the brush. Cut and pull away hair from the roller, ends, and intake, then remove fibers from the side brush and its base. Rotate wheels to expose axle debris. Reinstall the main brush in the marked orientation and make sure the cover latches sit flush.
Step 4: Release the OZMO Roller mop assembly
With the roller extended using the Auto-button command in Step 1 and the robot now switched off, press the assembly latch to remove the roller. Do not force a retracted assembly. Support the integrated roller and mop component as it comes free. Keep track of the end cover and do not twist the drive connection.
Step 5: Clean the roller mop and end cover
Remove hair and foreign material from the roller, its outward end, end cover, and surrounding channel. Rinse only components identified as washable and keep the drive and robot openings from being flooded. Do not use bleach, fabric softener, abrasive powder, or an unapproved floor chemical. Refit the clean end cover securely and replace a roller that is torn, permanently flattened, or will not rotate smoothly.
Step 6: Wipe sensors, bumpers, and contacts
Use a clean dry microfiber cloth on the navigation windows, edge and cliff sensors, charging contacts, and station signal areas identified in the manual. Wipe hair from the bumper gap without levering it open. Do not spray cleaner on the robot, use a wet swab in an opening, or scratch a sensor window with a stiff brush.
Step 7: Clean the station water tanks
Empty the dirty-water tank promptly, rinse the tank and lid, and remove buildup from its float or seal using the approved cleaning tool. Fill the clean-water tank to its mark using the water and ECOVACS-approved solution specified by the manual. Do not interchange tank positions, overfill, add foaming household detergent, or let dirty water stand between long periods of nonuse.
Step 8: Separate robot water parts from the station tray
The dirty-water box is on the robot, not inside the station tank. Press its rear blue release, empty it, clean its removable filter and refit the cover securely. The robot also has a separate water tray and tray filter below the roller side; follow the blue-buckle removal and click-fit installation shown by ECOVACS. At the unplugged station, remove and rinse the mop-washing tray, then reinstall its overflow float correctly. Wipe the station cavity without pouring water into it. Do not interchange these components or probe passages with a sharp wire.
Step 9: Reassemble and test the full cycle
Install the dry filter and dustbin, lock the brushes, and reinstall the OZMO Roller assembly until the latch confirms engagement. Return tanks, dust bag, and wash components to the station. Restore power with hands clear, double-click Auto to retract the correctly installed roller, then run a small-area vacuum-and-mop test. Watch for roller noise, water leakage, a tray error, or failed docking before allowing an unattended full-floor job.
