How to Clean Honeywell F300 Electronic Air Cleaner Cells

Step 5: Rinse thoroughly and keep postfilters out of the wash
Follow the manual's multiple-rinse sequence, including clear-water soaking, until the drainage no longer feels slippery. Its tub instructions include a final ten-minute clear-water rinse for cells. Handle the frames rather than their delicate internal parts when lifting. Leave the optional postfilters out of this process: replace those at the specified interval, generally every six months of use. Do not infer that a postfilter is reusable because the electronic cell beside it is. Keep detergent residue away from the cabinet and electrical contacts.
Step 6: Dry, inspect, and restore airflow orientation
Let washed components dry before returning them to service. Inspect for bent collector plates, loose connections, or broken ionizer wires without trying to improvise repairs. Refit prefilters upstream and reinstall the cells with their airflow arrows pointing in the actual direction of air movement; restore any applicable postfilters in their intended location. Close the access door properly. A component that does not slide into place as before should be checked for orientation or damage, not forced past the cabinet tracks.
Step 7: Restart and respond to unusual snapping
Switch the cleaner back on only after proper reassembly. The manual distinguishes an occasional operating snap from excessive snapping.
