How to Clean a Nuna RAVA Car Seat Safely

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Remove the seat and preserve its configuration
Take the child restraint out of the vehicle if the manual permits routine removal, then photograph the recline, belt path, lower-anchor storage, headrest position and harness routing. Remove only cover pieces the RAVA manual identifies. Never detach the installed harness merely to make cleaning easier.
Step 2: Vacuum crumbs without probing mechanisms
Vacuum loose debris from the seating area, cover seams, cup holders and around the buckle. Turn the empty seat only as the manual allows and use a dry soft brush near crevices. Do not push tools into the harness adjuster, buckle or energy-management structure.
Step 3: Wash the removable cover cold
Nuna allows the RAVA covers to be hand-washed or machine-washed in cold water on a delicate cycle with mild detergent. Close any hook-and-loop fasteners, use a protective bag and wash separately. Do not use bleach, harsh chemicals or dry cleaning, and do not wash foam or structural pieces unless explicitly listed.
Step 4: Surface-clean the installed harness
Use mild soap and water on a cloth to wipe harness webbing, then remove soap with another lightly damp cloth. Keep the harness installed and let it air-dry. Never immerse, machine-wash, iron or chemically disinfect the straps; unapproved treatment can affect webbing and is not made safe by rinsing later.
Step 5: Clean the buckle exterior only
Wipe the outside of the buckle with a damp cloth and clear visible crumbs around it with a dry soft brush. Nuna says not to immerse the buckle and not to lubricate it. If it does not click securely after dry debris is removed, stop using the seat and contact Nuna for service guidance.
Step 6: Wipe plastic, vinyl and metal parts
Use a damp sponge or soft cloth on the exposed shell, cup holders and metal hardware. Apply water to the cloth rather than pouring or spraying it onto the seat. Avoid bleach, abrasives, solvents and steam, and keep liquid from pooling in belt paths, adjustment slots or beneath padding.
Step 7: Air-dry the cover and restraint components
Nuna directs owners to air-dry the cover. Spread it flat or hang it as its label permits, away from direct heat. Leave the uncovered seat in a ventilated area until the harness, buckle exterior and crevices are fully dry. Do not reassemble over damp foam or webbing.
Step 8: Reassemble and reinstall exactly
Use the RAVA manual and your photographs to refit every cover opening without covering labels, belt paths or harness slots. Confirm the buckle latches, the harness tightens and releases smoothly and the chest clip closes. Reinstall with the approved rear- or forward-facing method and complete the manual's movement check before travel.
