Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Turn off and place the HydroVac on its tray
Release the power control, return the machine to its dock or storage tray on a level surface, and disconnect the charger before manual cleaning. Let the brushroll stop. Never turn the unit over with water in either tank, and do not rinse the handle, motor housing, charging connector, dock, or powered floorhead.
Step 2: Run the self-clean cycle after wet use
Check that the clean-solution tank contains enough correctly diluted fluid for the cycle and that the dirty tank has room. Seat the HydroVac fully on its tray and start the self-clean control described for the WD200. Let the program finish rather than lifting the unit mid-cycle. Step 3: Empty the dirty-water tank promptly
Remove the dirty-water tank while keeping it upright. Separate the lid and solids or debris screen over a trash container, discard captured hair and crumbs, then pour wastewater into a suitable drain. Do not store the machine with dirty water inside. A tank that looks only partly full may still stop pickup when foam or debris interferes with its sensor or float.
Step 4: Rinse the tank, lid, and debris screen
Rinse each removable dirty-tank component with clean lukewarm water. Use fingers or a soft brush to clear the screen without tearing it, and wipe accessible sensor or float surfaces gently. Empty old solution before long storage, rinse the clean tank with water, and inspect its cap and valve for residue. Refill using the tank's water and concentrate lines. More cleaner is not more effective: excess concentrate can create foam, streaks, or false tank-full behavior. Do not add dish soap, vinegar, bleach, wax, essential oil, or another floor-cleaning formula.
Step 8: Wipe the exterior and dock
With the charger disconnected, wipe the handle, tank bays, exterior floorhead, wheels, and storage tray with a soft damp cloth, then dry them. Remove pooled water or grit from the tray. Clean charging areas with a dry cloth only. Avoid spray cleaner around seams and never allow the cable or adapter to lie in wastewater.
Step 9: Reassemble after an observable dry check
Confirm that the brushroll core, end area, cover, tank, screen, lid, and seals have no cool damp spots or trapped droplets. Fit the roller into its driven end, lock the cover, assemble the dirty tank, and slide both tanks firmly into place. A loose lid, clogged screen, or misseated roller can cause leaking, noise, or loss of pickup.
Step 10: Test with fresh solution
Charge the unit, add a small batch of correctly diluted solution, and test on an approved sealed hard floor. Watch for smooth roller rotation and dirty-water pickup.
