How to Clean a Theragun and Its Attachments

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Identify the model and attachment type
Read the model name on the device and match it with Therabody support. Standard foam attachments, heated attachments and products with sensors can have different cleaning limits. Select the wipe named for that model instead of assuming alcohol is compatible. Inspect attachments for cracks, torn foam or exposed electrical contacts before continuing.
Step 2: Power off and disconnect charging
Stop the routine, press and hold the power control until the device is off and unplug its charging cable. Let a heated attachment cool completely. Therabody requires the unit to be off before cleaning and before attachments are connected or removed. Do not clean while charging or allow a wipe to bridge electrical contacts.
Step 3: Remove attachments correctly
Use the release motion shown for the model—some pull straight off, while a Prime Plus attachment aligns and twists at marked dots. Hold the attachment at its base rather than bending its working surface. Lay pieces on a clean towel. Do not force an attachment or insert a tool between its socket and the moving arm.
Step 4: Remove visible residue from the body
Use a clean dry cloth first on the handle, housing and arm to lift dust and dried skin products. A dry cotton swab can trace an accessible exterior seam without entering a vent. Keep fingers away from the attachment shaft while inspecting it. Never use compressed air, abrasive powder or a dripping cloth around the motor housing.
Step 5: Wipe with the model-approved product

Step 6: Clean standard attachments separately
Wipe each non-electronic attachment across its working surface, sides and connector, using the compatible product named by Therabody. Use a fresh wipe after visible residue is removed rather than spreading it between pieces. Do not soak foam, run pieces through a dishwasher or assume a dense attachment is nonporous enough for immersion.
Step 7: Treat powered or sensor attachments as electronics
For heat, cold or biometric accessories, use only their dedicated instructions and keep contacts dry. Clean accessible surfaces without wetting seams, vents or connector recesses. Do not submerge, autoclave or spray these attachments. If gel, lotion or sweat entered an electrical opening, leave the accessory disconnected rather than testing it immediately.
Step 8: Dry the port, socket and surfaces
Inspect the USB-C or proprietary charging port and attachment socket without inserting metal or a wet swab. Blot the surrounding housing and allow all wiped surfaces to air-dry at room temperature. Therabody warns against liquid entering the device or charging port. Do not reconnect power while any contact area looks or feels damp.
Step 9: Reassemble, test and store
Install a fully dry attachment using the documented alignment and locking motion. Power on briefly at the lowest speed and listen for normal operation. Stop for wobble, unusual sound or a loose connector. Turn the device off before placing it and its dry attachments in the case; storing sweat-damp parts together recreates odor and residue.
