How to Clean a Tineco CARPET ONE Cruiser
The Tineco CARPET ONE Cruiser washes carpet with a powered brush roller, clean-water and dirty-water tanks, a dry filter, and a self-cleaning system. Self-cleaning flushes the internal path, but Tineco still recommends cleaning the brush roller after every use, removing hair and carpet fiber from the cover and inlet, and drying wet components. Use only Tineco cleaning solution in the prescribed ratio; household detergent can foam in the recovery system and interfere with sensors.

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Finish extraction and place the machine safely
Release the spray control, stop the CARPET ONE Cruiser, unplug it, and let the powered brush stop. Place it upright on its storage or cleaning tray before removing tanks. Do not recline or tip it with dirty water installed. Keep the cord, plug, display, motor housing, charging or powered contacts, and control panel away from water.
Step 2: Empty the dirty-water tank promptly
Remove the dirty-water tank, lift out its separator or filter pieces in the order shown, and pour the recovered liquid into an appropriate sanitary drain. Remove hair and carpet fiber before they reach plumbing. Rinse the tank, lid, float, and approved separator pieces with clean water. Wipe the tank sensor areas gently and do not scratch or soak an electronic contact.
Step 3: Rinse the clean-water tank
Empty leftover mixed formula before extended storage and rinse the clean-water tank and cap. Use only Tineco solution at the manual's ratio during future jobs. Do not add bleach, vinegar, essential oil, powdered cleaner, dish soap, or another concentrated carpet chemical. Check the cap seal and valve for visible residue without prying them apart.
Step 4: Run the self-cleaning cycle
Prepare both tanks and position the machine exactly as required by the CARPET ONE Cruiser instructions, then start its self-cleaning cycle. Allow the complete sequence to finish so it can flush the roller and internal dirty-water path. Do not lift the machine, remove a tank, or interrupt power during the cycle. Empty and rinse the dirty-water tank again after the flushed soil is collected.
Step 5: Remove and clean the brush roller
Tineco recommends cleaning the brush roller after every use. Unplug the machine, release the brush cover and roller by their handles, and remove hair, thread, and carpet fibers with the supplied tool. Rinse the roller with clean water as directed, squeezing or twisting only if the manual permits. Clean both roller ends and replace a worn roller at the recommended interval, commonly about six to eight months with normal use.
Step 6: Clean the brush cover and suction inlet
Rinse the removable brush cover and clear residue from its lips and inlet using the supplied cleaning brush. Wipe the fixed head cavity instead of pouring water into it. Remove debris that could prevent the cover from sealing or the roller from turning. Do not probe internal tubing with wire, remove powered-head screws, or reinstall the cover until its latches can close without force.
Step 7: Clean and dry the filter
Remove the dry filter or filter assembly from the dirty-water tank. Tap away loose debris and rinse only if the Cruiser manual marks it washable. Use water without detergent, then air-dry completely in a ventilated area. A damp or clogged filter can reduce recovery and trigger a dirty-tank or airflow warning. Replace damaged, deformed, or persistently odorous media.
Step 8: Flush and drain the accessory hose if equipped
For packages with a stain tool or hose, use the manual's clean-water suction method to rinse the user-accessible path after use. Stop before the dirty tank reaches its limit, disconnect the tool, and let hose loops drain. Wipe the tool nozzle and remove lint. Do not store a wet hose tightly coiled or pour water directly into its machine connector.
Step 9: Dry, reassemble, and store
Stand the roller, cover, filter, tanks, and tools in a ventilated area until dry. Leave tank lids open during drying. Reinstall each part using its alignment and click points, loosely wrap the cord, and store upright in a dry place protected from freezing. Before the next carpet job, inspect the cord, fill caps, roller, and seals and test on an inconspicuous carpet area.
