How to Clean a NuFACE Microcurrent Device
NuFACE microcurrent devices require a conductive Activator during treatment, but any gel left across the metal spheres or attachment joint dries into a film that changes how the device glides and seats. The powered handle and removable TRINITY attachments are not cleaned like a waterproof facial brush: residue should be wiped away after every treatment without immersing the electronics or flooding the attachment connection. Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Power off and disconnect charging
End the treatment, switch the device off and remove it from its charger. Clean it while the Activator is still soft. Do not hold a powered button while wiping the metal spheres or release an attachment with wet, slippery hands.
Step 2: Remove surface Activator
Use a clean soft cloth to lift gel from the spheres and surrounding plastic. Turn the cloth frequently so residue is removed rather than spread into a thinner film. Pay attention to the narrow line where each sphere enters the device, but do not push cloth or a tool beneath the seal.
Step 3: Use minimal moisture for dried gel
Lightly dampen a lint-free cloth with water and wring it thoroughly. Hold the damp area against dried Activator briefly, then wipe with gentle passes. Apply moisture to the cloth, not directly to the device, and keep it from running into buttons, speaker openings, USB ports or attachment sockets.
Step 4: Clean removable TRINITY attachments
Release an attachment only in the manner shown for the model. Wipe its treatment surfaces and exterior with the same lightly damp cloth, then dry it. Keep the attachment pins and handle socket free of gel. Do not twist, soak or rinse a microcurrent attachment unless its own instructions explicitly permit that method.
Step 5: Wipe the handle and controls
Use a clean section of cloth on the grip, intensity buttons and display. Remove cosmetic transfer around control edges with repeated light wiping instead of solvent or an abrasive sponge. Avoid pressing liquid beneath a button membrane.
Step 6: Dry the electrical connections
Inspect the charging area, attachment contacts and cradle for residue. Wipe them dry with a lint-free cloth or dry swab that does not shed fibers. Green corrosion, blackened contacts or moisture beneath a clear surface should not be scrubbed with metal polish.
Step 7: Let all pieces air-dry
Set the handle and detached attachments on a clean dry surface with their connection points exposed to room air. Do not accelerate drying with a hair dryer, radiator or direct sun. Reattaching damp pieces can trap moisture exactly where the electrical contacts meet.
Step 8: Reassemble and check operation
Once dry, attach the correct treatment head until it is secure, then place the device on its clean charger. Before the next treatment, confirm that both spheres are smooth, the housing is intact and the attachment does not rock. Persistent intermittent output after correct cleaning belongs in model troubleshooting, not deeper disassembly.
