Step 1: Disconnect charging equipment and inspect the blade

Unplug the charging equipment and keep it away from the wet cleaning area. Identify the attachments currently fitted so they can be removed and replaced correctly. Look for a bent edge, cracked mounting point or damaged cutting surface before switching anything on. Do not keep using a damaged blade to see whether rinsing improves it. Step 2: Remove the attachments without prying

This powered rinse is a manufacturer instruction for OneBlade, not a rule for other electric grooming tools. Keep the charger and adapter dry and outside the sink. Do not bang the handle on a hard edge to shake hair loose. Watch the rinse flow and repeat gentle rinsing if visible residue remains instead of scraping between the cutting elements.

Step 4: Rinse combs and guards separately

Water needs to reach both sides of an attachment, including the teeth and the surfaces that sit close to the blade. Rinse the detached parts under lukewarm water, then inspect them for trapped hair. Do not clean around a fitted guard and assume the covered area is clear. Avoid sharp objects such as tweezers for removing a stubborn hair from the cutting assembly. If a comb tooth or guard is cracked, keep that accessory out of use. Washing does not restore the protection or fit of a broken part.

Step 5: Air dry the cutting assembly untouched

Switch the device off after the rinse and place it with the attachments on a clean surface. Philips explicitly says not to dry the blade with a towel or tissue. Let the blade and parts air dry rather than rubbing the delicate surface or stuffing tissue between its edges. Keep the equipment away from children and from a counter edge where it might fall. Do not enclose visibly wet parts in a tight case or reconnect charging equipment while the connection area remains wet.

Step 6: Distinguish residue from blade wear

Once dry, inspect the blade again and refit only sound components. If shaving still pulls or feels ineffective after correct cleaning, consider wear rather than escalating to abrasives or chemical soaking. The often-mentioned four-month interval is an estimate affected by use and hair type. Replace a damaged blade immediately; do not wait for a calendar date or an indicator to appear.

Follow the handle's release mechanism when installing a replacement blade; different OneBlade versions may release differently. Check compatibility using the exact handle and blade model rather than assuming every item sold under the brand fits. Refit dry accessories and protective parts without pressing on the cutting surface. Clean after each use so dried shaving residue does not accumulate.
