How to Clean a SNOO Bassinet
SNOO combines washable textiles with a powered base and fixed mesh walls, so it cannot be cleaned like an ordinary fabric bassinet. Happiest Baby says the mesh is not removable: it is spot-cleaned in place, while crumbs between its two panels are reached through the zipper with a flexible vacuum attachment or compressed air. The mattress cover, mattress, sheet and SNOO Sack each follow separate care paths, and everything must be dry before a baby returns. This guide is for the Happiest Baby SNOO Smart Sleeper and genuine accessories. It does not replace cleaning directions for rental returns, older replacement parts or another smart bassinet.

Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Power down and remove every loose item
Unplug SNOO and remove the baby, SNOO Sack, fitted sheet and mattress. Work on a dry floor with the cord protected from moisture. Inspect beneath the mattress and around the safety clips before cleaning. Happiest Baby recommends checking under the mattress weekly, which catches dampness or debris before it is hidden again by bedding.
Step 2: Launder the SNOO sheet correctly
Wash the genuine fitted sheet on a cold gentle cycle with mild detergent and similar light colors. Happiest Baby advises low-temperature drying and no bleach or fabric softener. Treat a stain promptly, but avoid a product that leaves fragrance or coating near the baby's sleep surface. Confirm the elastic remains intact before putting the dry sheet back.
Step 3: Wash the SNOO Sack separately
Fasten the inner wings and close the zipper before laundering so hook-and-loop areas do not catch other fabric. Wash warm or cold according to the Sack label, without chlorine bleach. Air-dry or tumble on low when the care label permits. Inspect the zipper, wings, clips and seams; discontinue a Sack with damage that could affect secure positioning.
Step 4: Clean the mattress cover and mattress by different methods
The removable mattress cover can be machine-washed warm with light colors and tumble-dried low. The mattress itself is not placed in a washer or dryer. Clean its accessible surface with mild soap and warm water, blot away excess moisture and air-dry it completely. Do not return a damp mattress to the platform or hide it beneath a clean cover.
Step 5: Spot-clean the fixed mesh
Leave the mesh attached to SNOO. Use a soft cloth with warm water and a small amount of mild baby-safe cleaner, working the affected section without saturating it. Happiest Baby says never to remove the mesh and warns against bleach and abrasive cleaners. Follow with a clean damp cloth so detergent does not dry into the fabric.
Step 6: Respond to a mesh spill and dry it fully
Blot a fresh spill rather than pushing liquid through both panels. Clean with the mild method, press with a dry towel and keep the mattress and baby out until the mesh is fully dry. A fan or hair dryer on cool or warm—not hot—can accelerate drying. Heat can harm fabric or nearby components, so keep the airflow moving and moderate.
Step 7: Remove debris between the mesh panels
Open the designated zipper and use a flexible narrow vacuum nozzle to reach crumbs inside the double-wall space. Compressed air is another manufacturer-suggested option; direct it away from faces and electronics and prevent debris from being driven deeper. Never cut stitching, detach the mesh or insert a rigid tool that can snag fabric or contact the moving platform.
Step 8: Wipe the platform, frame and legs
Use a compatible mild or hospital-safe surface cleaner on a cloth for the platform, base and legs, never pouring cleaner directly into SNOO. Avoid bleach and abrasive products. Keep liquid away from speaker, motor, sockets and seams. Once all components are dry, replace the mattress flat, add the fitted sheet, reconnect power and confirm normal operation without placing weight in the sleeper.
