Clean the lid and accessible exterior gently, using minimal moisture and a fresh cloth. Check the area where the unit normally sits; returning it to a wet counter can undo careful handling. Inspect the underside and connections without opening the housing. Keep water out of sockets and seams. If liquid has entered the base, leave it unplugged and contact Zima rather than relying on a short drying period as proof of electrical safety. A detachable tank does not make the powered components washable.

Before reuse, confirm that the base and electrical connections are dry and the tank is seated correctly. Use fresh cool water at the indicated level; an overfilled tank can spill.
